i certainly don't believe that God said that to anyone. but i did not join "a satanic cult run by a sex crazed mind controlling alcoholic pervert." i did end up in one eventually. but that is not what i believe i was led to when i poured out my heart to God, promising him that i would do His will if he would save me from my sin, and show me his truth. i met a group of folks that day. but they were the same group i left 20+ years later.
the enemy surely already had a toehold in the group. But God was also working in it. that day i found salvation thru the word of God. was that the theif coming to destroy?
somewhere along the line i believe that he tried to lead me out. for a variety of reasons i missed it for a time. he did get thru. some serious damage had been done. yet some wonderful things as well... a wonderful partner, beautiful kids, love for scripture and a heart for the people of planet earth. faith. it's a mixed bag. i have no way of knowing what would have happened had i not met the family. or gotten saved that day. so, i will have to thank him for the good, and thank him for forgiveness for the rest. and do the best w/ what's left. i still think he's an excellent father. shame on me, i guess.
