One thing is seeing (or hearing) something, another is understanding it (or accepting it). But I am sure there is more than that because, as you say, for Alan it took 4 years and for others it took longer. Some may have even seen it without having to join. It took me almost 13 years.

But to me the question is about those whose behavior can be ganerally accepted as being good (or not as bad as the really bad ones) and yet do not leave but keep staying. How can they be real Christians while participating in the promotion of Berg's teachings? Some of us may have done a couple of things here and there that we are ashamed of, maybe some never did anything really bad, and we consider ourselves fair and normally try to do what is good. But being nice doesn't necessarily mean that one as a Christian, does it? There is nice people everywhere, even in The Family, but are they Christians?
