I was reading a book on world history yesterday, written from a Christian perspective, and it's been very interesting so far. I had a question though which I've often had but never really asked:
Why are Christians so anti polygamy? Is there somewhere in the Bible that it states you can only have one wife, did Jesus command this? I don't think it's against God's law cause many of the kings had several wifes, as well as Abraham, Jacob, etc.
Not that I am looking to become part of a harem or to increase my house with a few more women, I don't think I'd do well in that situation, but I am just curious as to the Biblical backing of this decision amongst Christians.
