You wrote about the places where you were in The Family sometime ago. I thought that you were one of the lucky ones. I can relate to that because I have also been one of the lucky ones though I did witness and suffered disparities and abuse like the vast majority. All in all, I actually treasure much of what I learned, scripture I memorized, spiritual lessons. I don't go as far as listening to old family tapes but every so often some inspirational melodies or words come to mind and make me smile. I skip over the bad times but I am not ready to discount what others may have been through. I also saw enough of pain and hurt and that, together with the pedophilic teachings that were starting to come out, is what finally drove me away from The Family.

I became a Christian in The Family and I brought that out with me when I left. I strive to hear from The Lord everyday and maintain a link with His voice. I cant stomach too much religious language but I understand how some people need that. I tried going to several churches but I finally settled down for my own participation as a Christian in a society with many needs. So far that is the best fellowship I have been able to find.
