"they would love to shut down these sites"
If anyone thinks that there is any paranoia at all in that statment, I can tell you, as an Administrator from another ex-member site, the statement is 100% fact.
Right after the 9-11 attacks I had to defend the site I work with against an anonymous allegation to our web hosting company that we were a "Pro-Terrorst" organization. And, of course, with about 30,000 messages online, some of them did contain the Berg inspired anti-Jewish, anti-US, pro-Palestinian stuff that was being thrown around even before 9-11. It was almost one of those "perfect storm" scenarios.
Probably the only thing that saved us from being shut down was that we were hosted outside the U.S. at the time.
I could go on, but I guess the point I'd like to make is that we face challenges on a regular basis, simply because we provide space for ex-members to tell their personal life stories.
