But for someone like me I had studied all that before I had joined.

Also in my experience in the family, I came into first hand contact with Buddism and Hinduism and other things. And it was nothing like the theology I had studied, in alot of cases it was pretty scarey the things they believed and taught.

The reality is that so many were scared to death, as their religion most certainly did not offer ultimate comfort. Which is the Big difference.

I agree that most religions have some truths, no one would find any comfort in them at all if they had absolutely zero truths in them. But it didn't change the fact that I saw how people were able to leave behind their fears and find peace in Jesus. Now of course it is interesting to note that the people I found that did this joined traditional Christianity. Which of course to the horror of the homes I lived in. But I always figured we weren't in one place long enough to do anything much any way and was just relieved.

I can appreciate your needing to search, but maybe some of us oldies don't have to go through exactly the same thing.

As it was I knew Jesus was the way, I just didn't know Jesus and didn't know the way, and desperately wanted to find out.

This oculd only be done by studying the Bible. Studying true histories of the Early Chruch without the tainted input of the Berg letters.

True Christianity is nothing like what I learned in theFamily. So it was like learning a new religion!
