Juni and Jo,
You two are getting things mixed up. I am not trying to link homosexuality and pedophilia. I am trying to use an example of a sexual behavior that you think is or should be illegal.
If you think pedophilia should remain a crime, and if you think it is a disgusting practice, groups such as NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) can use the same logic you are using for homosexuality to charge you with Hate speech." Some would like to turn that into a "hate crime."
It wouldn't matter if you never physically assaulted a pedophile, you could be charged with a crime!
A guy in Canada has been prosecuted for publishing an advertisment for a Christian seminar on homosexuality, and as a part of that ad, listed some Bible verses which forbid the practice. The ad didn't promote hatred of homosexuals, or promote violence against them.
Dr. James Dobson's family.org website and ministry have only offered compassion and help to those who desire to leave the homosexual lifestyle.
I know it's not PC to say this, but plenty of homosexuals have successfully gone straight, just like some heterosexuals have become gay. I have heard the testimonies of some extreme feminists, who said they made a conscious decision to become lesbians as a form of political statement. If that's true, then why is it so hard to believe that a homosexual can become heterosexual?
Why do gay advocacy groups so strongly denounce these former homosexuals? Could it be because they are proof that it is a learned behavior? Perhaps it undermines their attempts to equate homosexuality with race, gender, handicap, etc.
