Yes, perspectives were different them, but there are basic human rights that influence correct decisions, like the Nigerian lady that was supposed to be stoned to death. She was set FREE due to the enormous amount of international pressure and the efforts of groups such as Amnesty International.
KKK have opinions, they hate Blacks, Jews, Latinos, basically non-white races and they hate gays. Hate is based in fear. When basic human rights are involved, or there is control via superstition or fear, it is not just a matter of perspective.
