and it is a better question?
Does it matter that Berg was saved or not? I think this is really the point.
We joined a group of people who we took as living a life we wanted to emulate. It was a hierarchical organization of people in different layers exercising influence over people in other layers. The closer they got to the top the further they were from the new adepts, who only had those in the closet layers as points of reference.
In short, it doesn't matter if anybody was or was not saved but what matters to each one of us was/is our own experience. As I said before, ex-members have a garden variety of experiences in the Family. Some exmembers are even now totally oblivious to the damage the Family has caused to their own children. We live in different worlds. But what we all have is the fruits and the fruits of that Berg man can be seen in the lies and evil beliefs emanating from their ranks.
The works of that man, carried out by sincere people turned into an organization that fosters destruction of lives and souls, how can that organization be considered Christian? I'm not saying that there are no Christians in the Family but that the Family is a non Christian organization. That is the fruit of one David Berg. Some people may have a hard time to accept the fact that the Family is not a Christian organization even though they preach Jesus, but do the facts show something different? I don't think so.
Christians don't pray to evil spirits, for one thing. Christians do no consult spirits of dead people, they consult the Holy Ghost who is their only teacher.
And so there are several other indications that the Family cannot be and is not a Christian organization even if there are Christians in their midst. And it turns out that it doesn't really matter whether Berg was saved or not.
