Their excuse was the U.S. trade embargo which deprived them of oil and rubber, and they had to go south to get it from Malaya and Indonesia. For an industrialized nation, the U.S. embargo was devastating. Well that's their excuse. Ignored are the reasons why the U.S. enacted that policy which "forced" them to invade Asia and bomb Pearl Harbour. And that really helps explain why they raped Nanking and carried out biological warfare on hundreds of thousands of people, doesn't it? Well what is sicker is the USA granting immunity to Japanese top millitary and scientists responsible for these crimes, in exchange for the data obtained from the experiments. In stark contrast to the Nuremburg trials for the Nazis. Hmmm... well maybe not... some German scientists who had successfully invented long range missiles which were used in the war were grabbed up by the Soviets and USA, to develop long range nuclear weapons programs.
