Yes, I'm sure there are plenty of "alternatives" to war, and for the most part, they were conceived from ivory towers. You seem to be incapable of conceiving or admitting that there are times when diplomacy does not work, and a country must defend itself against an aggressor. Do you take the position that the world should have simply surrendered to Nazi Germany? If so, your pacifism would have resulted in the extermination not only of all jews, but of many other non-Arian races. Climb down from your ivory tower and face reality. There is evil in this world, and sometimes war is the only viable way to stop it.
