I've heard the same thing, not about them cleaning his room and finding the books, but someone who was there (whom I judge a credible source with no reason to lie) walking into Berg's "Ark" (trailer) and finding a copy of a book on Korean mind control there that Berg had been reading.
OK, but now I have a question:
Berg simply could not keep his mouth shut. His mouth was like somone who had eaten Exlax and had the runs. It seems to me if he'd seriously studied such stuff with the intent of using it and had then used it, he could not have resisted talking about it in the millions of pages of his talks/letters. But so far as I have ever seen, he didn't even drop hints about mind control's "beneficial aspects".
