You can only take responsibility for cleaning your side of the street, and it's a two-way street. You didn't ask for travel money. Your family members didn't offer. I don't think you're being completely fair (to yourself or your feelings for your father) to allow your sister to lay this particular guilt trip on you.
Lots of times during my drinking days I was physically present at family events, but emotionally absent. I make my amends by trying to do a better job of asking family members (like my kids) for the things I need in order to be there for them.
