I remember when their family went to south America. They were some of the first to leave the country. They were always in the "New Nation News" because the parents were witnessing so much in South America and doing such a "good job". How like Berg to turn his own crap into someone elses "fault". He even tries to make it seem like River Phoenix spoke well of the family, when what he did, seems to me, is to try and minimize his past so that people would not be dredging it up. After all, he had life after the family. Think about Berg's constant purgings of leadership and anyone whose personality threatened his own control. Like in the letter "Kings" ( or something like that) where he dethroned local leadership prior to instituing Visiting Servants, whose job was just to parrot the letters and keep people in line. Boy if that was not marrionette time..
And you are so right about that arrogance. The family standard of being more sold out, more dedicated when in actuality, the work was often primarily focused on raising funds and passing out bizarre letters. (Which lifted up Berg and his weird-a** delusions.)
