Remember when Time Magazine did an article on Berg and the family, it had a pic of Rachel in it, and the article was mentioning the death of a guy that had left the family and been murdered? His body was found with stab wounds in the shape of a cross or something? The article suggested that Berg may have had something to do with that. I remember reading that article and thinking it was the "enemy" accusing the family. Then Berg wrote a letter referring to that article saying that he thought it was a "good article". That was equivalent to Berg at least wanting to seem threatening and make it look like he approved if not committed the act. Another thing is that as the "Godfather" movies came out, Berg had a fascination with the power of organized crime lords. He loved the adoration shown to Brando's character. The family did have connections with org. crime and used them to transport RV like the ark overseas and back without taxes. Also there was a woman who left the family who was assaulted and her kids forcibly taken from her after she left the family with them. There is an underside to the family that certainly leaves it wide open to reasonable speculation.
