Keep in mind that not only cash is taxable. Just because the organization is tax exempt doesn't mean that the people working there are. Ask anyone working for a legit charitable organization if they get a W-2 form at the end of the year. Not the volunteers who go after they get off work, the people who work there 9-5.

If these full time missionaries "on retreat" are in fact living there with no visable means of support, basically spending the $3 million. Well?
