I just wanted to say that it was clear to me who you were when I read your response, and i appreciated it. Certainly this mode of communication is not perfect. Yes this subject has come up before, and as long as there is equal opportunity for exers to react no one should be dictated to as to their responses to each other. I was not thinking of old business as much as current. Since I came to the boards, I have been educated on what occurred with SGAs after leaving the family. It is no wonder to me that many feel as they do. I want to be clear that I in no way intend to discount that. I don't know another way that people can express how they feel than coming right out and honestly say it within the guidelines of the respective boards. My response was primarily with regard to the analogy of the frog being boiled. I read further down about the Proctor and Gamble thing. I learned something about that recently too. A friend of mine is friends with a mutual acquaintance who was adamant about not using Proctor and Gamble products. I immediately said that it was BS about the satanism crap etc. Then I realized that her qualms with P&G were not at all related to any of that garbage. It was about the fact that she was an advocate for animal rights and did not use their products since they did testing of them on animals. That was simple.
I am glad for what you do to advocate for people born into the fam, or who were in it as minor children.
All I bring up is an interest in understanding between generations for whoever wants to. And I do have a different perspective about where FG are/were at while under the influence of the group. Including those that did do things that were horrific. I don't understand the resistance to discussing that here. It in no way is intended to take away anyones self-responsibilty.
