this month's "christianity today" does a critique of this position, basically saying the use of the term "persecution" is in fact overblown in the light of realities of far more serious suffering in other parts of the world. Jesus never said you'd have constitutional rights, etc. heck, i don't recall him trying to get a statue of the ten commandments into the roman senate, etc.
