I think that the decisions being made regarding the 10 commandments statues are correct. The reason why is that public facilities and courts are having to keep up with the shifts in culture. America was once predominantly Christian with a Jewish minority as far as recognized religions. Now there are many different religions and cultures and the others are growing. I believe that it is in the best interests of the country to make public arenas neutral ground as far as religion is concerned. That way Christians rights are protected as any other. Religion has played a huge role in war, and wars are not needed on campus. However, I do believe that it is wrong to say someone cannot wear a cross if another can wear Islamic symbolism or dress according to their religion. There are private hospitals and businesses that display their religion and that has not been challenged. I have a hair dresser that has her Buddhist statues and offerings displayed in her salon. A major hospital sets up a huge nativity scene every year, even though they routinely treat people of different and no faith. It is a private facility. There are also private Christian schools and homeschooling for those that want their kids educated with a specific religion. I would call that freedom.
