Hi Acheick,

Perhaps, but my main point was to show how that old horse-nugget about religion being responsible for most wars is just a horse-nugget...a myth.

In comparison to the number of wars fought solely for land and power, the number of wars fought for purely religious reasons pales by comparison. This myth is usually repeated by people who want to discredit religion in general and Christianity in particular.

But this topic is a bit off the original thread, which deals with the increasing intollerance of our society towards Christianity. Have you read the messages between me and Ray? What are your thoughts?

I visited www.christianitytoday.com and ffound the editorial that Ray reffered to. They gave two of the most benign examples that Limbaugh gave in his book. Then they compared these examples to some extreme examples of persecution in third-world countries. It was a very transparent attempt on their part to make religious persecution in the U.S. appear trivial. They just don't get it.

Hitler didn't start killing the Jews right away. First they were told to wear a yellow star of David...then the curfews...then the travel restrictions...finally "You vill report to ze train station. Ve haf a verk camp ver you vill be sent to verk!"

It's incremental...a little here and there, and before you know it, you've lost your religious liberty.
