Well, I hesitate to put words in the Lord's mouth, but you can certainly see the implication of this verse.
For those who interpret Christ's admonition to "turn the other cheek" as meaning that we should never defend ourselves from physical attack, this verse indicates otherwise.
What other purpose could those swords have had?
