I was talking to an exmember who is Turkish. She only moved to the U.S. a few years back and has been in Turkey since she left TF. While she was there, she was very active in the Christian community and ran across the Armenian Archbishop for a large area of Turkey. During the course of their conversation it came out that she had been a member of the COG/FOL. He proceeded to tell her how he was “saved” by TF. The story goes that he was studying in an Armenian seminary but was not really a practicing Christian, per se. Apparently, he was hitchhiking somewhere in Europe and was picked up by a van full of COG sometime in the 70s or 80s. Of course, they began “witnessing” to him and telling him all the COG/FOL untruths. He was shocked at the things they were saying and decided he must read the bible and find out just how they got these twisted ideas. Fortunately, he was already studying the bible, so he knew they just couldn’t be right. Someone even offered his wife to him. That was the last straw, he went home and delved into his bible to find out the truth and that’s when he got saved and is now an important Archbishop in Turkey. Hahahahahahaha. One happy outcome at least.
