You had some very good advice which I agree with but then you said, 'My recommendation is simple... put the bible away, put the whole faith thing away for a while and take a break from "religion". God isn't going to punish you I assure you and he's definitely NOT in some book that some politician put together in 300 ad.'
You're right up until that point. God is not going to punish Erika for her struggles with her faith, but you're really pushing some old tired theology to say that the Bible was put together by some politician in 300 AD. When was the last decade that you checked in to current thought on the issue of the formation of the New Testament? The theory you quoted here is a century old & has long since been repudiated. You might want to refresh yourself with some current studies and thinking which has established beyond any doubt that the 3 gospels and Paul's epistles were written and in final form by 60 AD, John's Gospel by 90 and Revelation by 95 AD. In other words they're close to the source & not the result of Catholic clergy doctoring things centuries later.
But he/she has some good advice Erika. Your faith in God & the Bible is separate from your faith in Berg & the lies of his teachings, & can survive on its own. It's a matter of sorting things out.
