There didn't need to be, as you can see. IMO he was insensitive enough without resorting to that.
He also seems to think this is really a Christian board where his faith gets the upper hand:

I remember when some time back, there were at least 2 other posters who posted in the same style, and they never quite understood why it would turn anybody off. And these people who were getting turned off were professed Christians in some form or other.
