I'm not a Bible scholar but I seem to recall that God will mete his judgement on us on Judgement Day, whenever that is. But of course we were taught that God was judging us all the time, especially when bad things happen to us. I've had some personal tragedies happen to me after I left the fam and attributed that to my leaving the cult. It was only when I started seeing a therapist, 8 years later, that I got out of that guilt-trap and accepted them as unfortunate life processes. All the crap we imbibed we really have to purge from our minds, conscious and subconscious. It was part of the legalism that bound us and kept us from the true God of grace and love. Sad isn't it? But at least we're out and have the opportunity to discover the genuine article.
