support and recovery in the exer community

Since I have come to the exer boards and visited all of them- as far as I know, there is one common characteristic I have seen in all, which I participate in at times. That characteristic seems to be the need to pick at each other and tear each other down. I realize that it helps to discuss different viewpoints, different paths to spirituality including agnosticism and atheism. But I don't think anyone is more superior to anyone else because of their belief system, whether it is about politics, religion, recovery or anything else.
Somehow I suspect that there is something within us as exers that might still be a part of family programming that remains, that there is a need to be very critical of each other and to further cause warranted distrust amongst ourselves. It seems like just about everyone has been on the "ins" or the "outs" as to how they are viewed by others according to how they post. Frankly I am tired. I believe we all have much to offer each other in building ourselves and each other up.
