1) Is exfamily.org defined by being non secular? In reference to "Compared to those secular chat boards..." I hope not.
Because I spent so long in the Family thinking that I was one of few chosen "elect" and "called out" ones, one of the main goals I have in life since I left the group is to perform a useful role as a member of this world, a citizen of humankind.
Personally I feel that if exfamily.org can't be secular as well as non-secular in nature then it's usefulness will be greatly diminished.
2) I'm not a regular to the boards because my goal is "to expose the COG/TF for the evil cult it is." It's fine with me if that's your goal and if that's what unites you with others who share that with you.
I'm here for myself, it's part of my journey. Where else can I find a place where I can have meaningful exchange with so many fellow travelers that know and understand my own experience when I was in the Family?
For me I don't see it so much as being "united", because I'm not here to participe in a cause, except for the cause and effect I look for in my own life. For me I often relate to our community here as a type of support group. I speak for myself, if you and others have other reasons for your participation on these boards, that's entirely up to you.
