I think to a certain extent they can, but I wonder if that's their main purpose? A lot of the discussions here are not necessarily affirming to everyone, but maybe they serve another important purpose of helping us consider the whole cult experience & listening to each other's different takes on it.
I guess 'Journeys' is not just about recovering from the cult, but also where we are headed since leaving it. A lot of that has little to do with our former cult experience but is part of our own ongoing individual journey. Hence the disagreements. We all agree the cult was abusive, but our take on almost everything else can differ a lot. As it should, since we are reclaiming our individuality now.
