"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the
fulness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in him....Colossians 2:8-10

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now John 16:12

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not
contain the books that should be written.Amen
John 21:25

for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the
Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Isa. 11:9

But when that which is perfect is come, then that
which is in part shall be done away. 1.Cor.13:10

The discussion with Eva remotely reminds me of a discussion I had some time ago with Christians of the brethren type (open or not, doesn`t seem to matter...)...who claim, that THE WORD is what is
meant in the last quoted verse...therefore for them
there is no need for prophesy anymore, in fact it`d be downright diabolical or at the minimum vain,
human imagination...much you`d probably find in
the teachings of Scofield, I suppose...

However, they get in trouble, if you tell them about the two witnesses in Revelations 11, then they hohum-around...their claim is simply not waterproof & personally I am not convinced of their
logic...
At the same token, you could ask now in that discussion-thread, is Jesus o n l y found in the
words printed up, called the Bible, or is their a Jesus beyond that...sometimes I get the impression
Alan & Eva fail to see some common ground, they, to my imagination, could have...on top of that Eva leaves herself open, to have in one year a total
different opinion, that`s what matters to me, to stay open for more truth in the future...
For me the Word of God is The Bible....much of
what Buddhism teaches, you find in one verse:
Luke 14:33 So there is a perfect projection from what Jesus is into the WORD...
The question could be: Is a l l of Jesus, all the
Word revealed completely unto us, or is there room
for more????
I told the brethren, that they should now have complete understanding, having it all :
For we now see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part;but then shall I
know even as also I am known 1.Cor.13:12
(The brethren explain face to face/ darkly with cross-references Numbers 12:6 & Deut.5:4ff)

So all there is left for me is: join the brethren
; )
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1. Jo.3:2

I do see a huge difference between the Word of God & what people thought it`d mean in their & other people`s lives, getting dogmatic, putting people down, when in power...but that`s not a fault of e.g. Paul etc...
