I like your style. Stick around, we can use more of these assessments. Why didn't you speak up before? This Journeys board was started for the purpose of spiritual healing from the devastating effects of Berg's demented religious teachings. The idea was to tear down what Berg promoted and see just where it all went wrong, see where we all ended up because of it.
We all came away with huge problems associated with that and we need healing. That was the idea behind this Journey's designation. You have pinpointed the problems very well. alan feels the need to preach his Christian religion, and that's ok too, but he also needs to realize there is no one here that does not know the bible and is not adult and mature enough to make that decision should they want to. It's an individual and personal thing. At the same time, I don't understand Eva who wants to shoot down sacred cows just for the hell of it. Yes, everyone needs to vent once in awhile, but not everytime and at everyone. Also everyone is at a different stage. There is a process and venting is part of it, but then you move on to the next stage.
I do take issue with one statement you said. Although it's certainly true the F. was anything close to oopy goopy, it still had the false pretense in the homes and out in PR. If one had a problem with someone or God forbid a leader, you certainly couldn't say it without suffering huge ramifications. You had to be nice and sweet, or else. I still see that icky false front whenever I meet F. members and it literally makes me ill.
