it does seem to me that we all do unavoidably in some way or another conceptualize God in different ways, and are unavoidably wrong about some aspects of his being. if God is indeed infinite, this makes it impossible for the finite to comprehend.
but, if God is also personal, and created us for relationship, it seems that perfect understanding is not so much the key, as looking for clues he may leave for how we might enter into relationship w/ him.
if we accept that God is a moral force, (i.e. cares about stuff like warfare between nations, and the way certain generals may take his name in vain), then it would seem efforts to grasp the nature of that moral-ness, at least in so far as we want to line our hearts up w/ the moral order of creator and creation, take on some importance, despite that fact we "see thru a glas darkly.")
if we accept that, it then becomes a matter of sifting evidence...would you agree?
