Most of the physicists I have worked with would refute a materialistic cosmology. The vast majority of those I met personally are very spiritual people, in many cases due to their own insight into the study of matter, what you call physical properties. I agree that there is more to light than what we can see, Karl Sagan was a believer and he knew quite a bit about light. I don’t presume to understand light, only a little bit. What I said about the duality of life is what is known to this point, energy and matter. In my opinion, light is not a “thing” but a no-thing called phase change, and as such something to be studied differently. Current paradigms don’t allow this line of research but it doesn’t mean that many people know about it. I am sure that it will gain support in time.

I was hoping you had something more substantial on Bell’s theorem but popular science magazines are only the starting point. Bell’s views on the state of science are not out of line with many other scientists’ so lumping all of them in the same ideological field is not correct. Science is not an enemy of God or spirituality as many people seem to think. In my case it has been a tool to confirm and even expand my knowledge.

The vast majority of scientists are trained to be flexible in order to accommodate and revise their theories, thoughts, ideas, models, etc. to explain the data they collect. They follow the norms of science. On the other hand, there are also some who attempt to accommodate data into some preconceived ideas. These are more dogmatic in their approaches. So, there you are, even within “science, dogma doesn’t come out to be a good thing. One doesn’t need to be a trained scientist to see that there is a difference between being dogmatic and an inflexible ideologue.

Critical thinking goes a long ways not just in the scientific pursuit of truth but in daily life but on top of that there is the spiritual reality, which gives life. The scientific method has been an important tool for me to use in my spiritual growth. Let’s not minimize it. A good verse regarding this: 1 John 4:1 - "...try the spirits whether they are of God..." This and many other instructions are totally scientific.
