I know the old thing about not being selfrighteous & it's beter to be a publican or a harlot that repents than a phariesee who thinks they don't need to. but I think Berg took that to an extreme. remember "DIrty Dishes" ML where he said you had to get dirty in bed with men to save their souls just like you got dirty washing dirty dishes? i always wondered about that becuz my hands always got clean doing dishes but that's beside the point.
Someone said on genX board about people who got close to the Famly & "got dirty" helping others & that was a good thing. getting dirty wasexcused becuz of allthe good they did. but do you really have to get dirty helping others. can't you still have integrity? i know Jesus hung out with tax collecters and sinners but he wsn't helping the tax colletors rob the poor cuz he whipped them out of the temple and he even commended Zacheus for giving back the money he robbed. He hung out with harlots but he didn't lay them unlike what Berg said. I just have problems with hanging out with oppresers. Did John the baptist hang out with herod in the hopes he would change and say he'd take him in if he repented? it doesn't add up. maybe I'm not getting the point but where's the line between mercy and holding out hope for known oppressors and getting buddy buddy with them?
