I think the abuse took its toll. I saw her on some sort of documentary. The pain in her eyes was there, I could see it, even if she convinced herself to believe in Berg, maybe it was for her own sanity. She was talking about how she wanted to stop her husband from philandering, but her son, Hosea, scolded her about it. She had absolutely no support from anyone. From what I've heard, Hosea was a real tyrant and hurt many people also. No one was breaking the cycle of abuse.
