That's the worst thing about all of it. Most of what comes out of the major studios these days is such garbage.
TV is even worse. I guess that's one reason I'm so addicted to "Reality" TV these days. But, they are getting that more and more scripted and contrived with each show.
A couple of nights ago, I was watching TV, and heard the word "turd" twice in one night on the same network, in early prime-time. One of the shows was "Malcom in the Middle", and it was said by a child no older than my youngest daughter, Casey.
I was talking to my kids about how it used to be a challenge to write scripts and get a point across without using a word like "turd".
What is really lacking today is creativity.
Getting back to "Passion", that film is able to accomplish the entire mission without even using a single word from the English language.
Time and time again, it has been proven that when Hollywood brings out a quality film, people will pay to see it. My guess is that this film brought people to the theater who haven't been to see a movie on the big screen in a long time. My opinion is that it isn't because people don't like to go to the movies. It's because people don't like to go to all that trouble, and pay all that money to see... well... something dark and smelly.
