Sorry, I pushed enter accidentally. Anyway, the Beach is one of my favorite movies in that it really shows the mentality of cults and what they all seem to strive for. That nirvana or utopia that just won't happen like they think it will and the leader always ends up in such a delusional and denial state that they'll do anything to keep their dream of utopia alive. That's what I saw in that movie, it was so similar. Even the trips to the mainland to get needed supplies, so much like our trips to "the system" to get things from the "systemites" - it was uncanny.
