Sorry to offend Oldtimer. Yes people are allowed to express their spiritual beliefs and unless I'm mistaken I'm allowed to disagree with them.
My brother was a schitzophrenic and when his illness took hold as a teenager I was unfortunately in the Family. What do you suppose the Family's explanation of his strange behaviour was? You guessed it - demonic possession. How I wish I had have been able to help him but alas he committed suicide because he thought he was so evil. I had no idea what was happening and was not in a position to guide him or my parents to get him mental health care. Had I known more about mental illness instead of believing in demon possession he may still be alive today. Maybe this gives a little more context to my rejection of superstition with regards to mental illness. I hope so.
