The main influence Sybil had was not Anton but Aleister Crowley. My mother was not in a coven or anything, but involved loosely with the "psychic" community and read Leek and others. So when I said she was into witchcraft, she was (not in the Christian fundie sense of description which can include anyone and everyone and anything that doesn't fall in line with a given church).
She was highly superstitious which I thought was funny, and weird. She was quite uncanny with her card reading, but used it to control too. She was extremely emotionally abusive in many ways and that venue was just one way.
And I am sure the way she did things went against what a "good" pagan would teach.
I was just catching up on the board and reading what you wrote about your current journey. Glad you are finding things that are bringing some peace into your life.
Right now, we are a week away from moving and are not yet finished with packing. ugh. I HATE the moving process, but it feels real good to settle in to a new place with everything freshly in order. :)
