Real prayer and "works" prayer

Farmer, I see your point, but I think you're not getting the difference I'm trying to make. I do pray over things, I pray with my kids and if we go on a long drive my wife will always pray for safety. What I'm saying is that the Family in their attempts to be "hyper-spiritual" and "holier than thou" has taken this whole principle to an extreme.

I was going to a very active Charismatic church at the time, and even they for all their spiritual side, never prayed over taking up the garbage. They just took it out. If they had something to say they said it, they didn't pray a super-holy prayer over a one minute conversation. These are people who spoke in tongues and prophesied, yet they still looked on me as spiritually weird when I got into the Family's prayer mode. And it was weird.
