I never heard of Maria thinking she was the "elect lady" of 2 John. She thinks she's Aphrodite the goddess of love, incarnated in Karen Zerby's flesh. They even wrote a song about her: "Aphrodite (la la la la) who walks amonnnng men."
Maria also thinks she's one of the two Endtime witnesses of Revelation 11 and that Davidito her son is the other. OOOOOPPPPPS! Recall on that prophecy!!! Davidito has now left the Family and is speaking out against Maria, him mom.
Maria also thinks she's Jesus' special lover. She used to get it on with him all the time in heaven before she was born in Arizona as Karen Zerby, and when she dies and goes back to heaven, why, she and Jesus are going to sail around in their yaght for a week just pounding the deck boards with their sweaty, horny bodies.
Back to 2 John, the "elect lady" was not a member of Parliament either. :c)
"Elect" means "chosen by God" and she was a leading woman in a church, probably somewhere near Ephesus (in modern Turkey). John knew her and this was a personal little letter from him to her, that fortunately was preserved and included in the Bible.
