You asked if your faults/sins were "bad, wicked, evil sins" and like you I conclude they are not. I think the person who buys an extra cappucino then goes into introspection of how evil the sin was is missing the point. Sin does simply mean "missing the mark". If your kids want and need your attention and you don't give it when you know you should, that's "missing the mark." Sometimes you simply need the rest and it's no big deal, but you know what I mean. I don't think any of us would have a problem saying we "miss the mark" but even I cringe at the overly-religious description of saying I'm a dirty rotten stinky filthy sinner simply over something minor.
You sound like a good moral person and I admire that in you. The only point is none of us are perfect, that's the point.
