After reading your post, I realise that I feel a lot like you, I respect the teachings of Jesus and many teachings in the Bible, the Psalms hold many words of encouragement and are beautifully written (among other books), but I also respect things I've read from the Buddha, Confuscious, and some of the few things I've read from Hinduism, as well as Einstein, Mark Twain, etc.
For me I would rather be able to choose out from each different area what I feel is right but not feel forced or compelled to accept it all, lock-stock-and barrel, while rejecting other religios writings or opinions simply because they are not from my religion, which is what we did in the Family.
And has happened from time to time on different boards. If I were to say I agree with the Wiccan rule of do no harm, would some Christians on this board immediately reject the rule simply because it comes from the Wiccan religion? Wouldn't this be close-minded? And it works the other way around.
