I don't disagree with you, but it seems that with the capacity to do good, is also the capacity to do evil, to sin. If we say we are without sin, then just who are we trying to kid?
Aren't we just lying to ourselves, whitewashing over the facts?
It's not about being negative about human beings. There is definately that capability to do good. But is that enough?
and if it was, why did Jesus have to die? Why couldn't we just be good enough, why would Jesus have to go such great lengths, the ultimate sacrifice of the only truly 'good' human that ever lived. (totally without sin, in his mind or in his body or in his heart)
Like I said, I don't have any easy answers, I don't think there are any. I think it's to easy to try and simplify sin.
