The snow has melted, the fields are dry, the migrant geese have flown north and those remaining have paired off, and the seed eating birds that pass through, but nest further north, have all but dissapeared as well. Until it warms up around here, the insect hatch won't happen and the warblars and swallows that feed on them will stay further south until it does. In short, it's still pretty cold up here - no frogs croaking yet, and no open water on the lake to throw a canoe into. Spring is very slow coming this year and apparently it's going to be snowing today or tomorrow again. There, now you know it's me - hee hee.
