A couple of posts below talk about interpretations as well. I wonder if they really matters. There was a time when I used to have up to 3 bibles and when I had a question about the meaning of a word I would go to the other 2 and look at the whole verse or passage. It would normally be pretty enlightening. I think the same could happen within one translation (the Mathew vs Luke view) as long as we are willing to expand and just accept that the idea is to give, regardless of the consequences. Actually a wild thing.

Something else I have been contemplating is in relationship with sin (another hot topic lately), which looks at our actions as the action itself, the what is done, and way the action is done, the how it is done. This view does away with intentions and motivations but I am not sure it is accurate.

Any thoughts?
