I think Berg was learning Marxism or had learned Marxism. I think he really got into the word(not the word of God)but the word ... world...which to him meant system.
I can't imagine what was going on his head. I know that being antiestablishment, antisystem, antiwar was very popular then. So, he just took advantage of it. I know a couple of times some black guys came in, so he shouted "Black Power".
He probably just used any tools he could to draw disciples.
