Berg was an acholic...his son Aaron was very similar to what you described about being nice one minute, than snapping at you the next. I think Aaron was a little off.
I don't know Woroniecki, nor have ever heard of him. I just know that the Lord told us to beware of false prophets.
I think during the time of 1976-1980, Berg turned his ideas from being antisystem to turning our women into whores. I left around 77 for the third time, but I never came back again.
Most cults have similar ideas and most of their leaders have almost the same parnoia's. I believe it's just evil spirits influencing these people. Most of them are little Hitlers, who started off being nobodies and then became somebodies. Then had to have complete devotion from their followers and if they didn't get it they would fall into complete manical tyriads using whatever fear tactic they can to keep their followers in check. In DB's case he quoted so many times in his letters "Never underestimate the power of fear to control". This is so different from the love and humilation of our Lord and savior.
The results of this hellish doctrines are seen with a lot of members of this board. Broken lives, broken families, bitterness, hopelessness,
resentfulness these are some of the fruits of cults. It just doesn't happen to be the exclusiveness of the COG, but the fruits of most cults.
My own personal belief about whether Berg influenced a lot of these people. Perhaps, but let's not give him the credit. These ideas were floating out there during the 60's and 70's, Berg was a plagarist, so maybe, Woroniecki was a plagarist, too.
I count it all lost, the years that I wasted in the COG except for the souls that were won. It took away my innocence and made me a skeptic. But, perhaps, that's a good thing.
