One of the things that was disturbing to me about this case where RAndy is concerned, was his abscence of emotion when interviewed, his readiness to speak, and his comments to the press, while Andrea was still in the trial process, that he would like to start a new family. It was very bizarre.
I think it is so negligible of our judicial system that it did not allow obvious evidence regarding the psychotic state of Andrea and jurors were not allowed to know that if she was found guilty by reason of insanity it would NOT mean that she would be back on the sts to re-commit these crimes. But her treatment would have been better. The public at large just cannot grasp the effects cults have on intelligent adults that become increasingly vulnerable under their influence. Some, like Andrea, were more vulnerable suffering from psychosis and post partum depression. Also, even after Dr. recommendations that she have no more children, she continued to be a baby making machine and did home schooling on top of it. She had all those stressors, known mental problems, and yet she was left alone in her sad state to watch those kids.
