Actually it is more subtle, isn't it? Isn't it teaching certain things to certain people what makes a person deserve the proverbial stone? When we agre that there is a line we are not necessarily agreeing what that line is and some people think dancing is a sin. I knew a congregation whose preacer had convinced them that showing too much friendliness was a sin because one has to be sober and circumspect. I am pointing out that what one takes lightly is heavy for another and just because many Christians can agree and vote something as a sin doesn't make it a sin.
Don't take me wrong now. I think that David Berg was the worst of the worse but we were talking about his salvation or not. I pretty much decided that it is not important to me but I am conlcuding that what is important is to examine the manifestation of that salvation and see if it is godly.
I agree with you about other religions and I have also seen their fear but I have also found out the same thing among Christians. The vast majority have a gret fear of what will happen. I suspect that is because they are not certain of their purification and that they will get a good reward - could it be that they do know they will be getting their just reward? Now, that is enough to scare anybody unless they also know the mercy of God.
