In a dialogue between Lidia and Ray about Biblie-based opinions and interpretations and actual Bible verses, Miguel asked a question. Maybe this is a good time to revisit it. This ia repost of the short exhange which soon degenerated into something else. This time maybe Lydia will explain a little more on what her views are.
This was the question:
If [The Bible] were [clear], then there would not have been discussions, right? If people argue for one interpretation or another is because they both have enough basis.
In other words, there are many holes in The Bible and personal interpretations move in to explain them. Is this blasphemy?

Some things are very clear. Heaven is clear, hell is clear. It is spoken of in very simple terms. But of course, the levels of hell and levels of heaven is where it gets sticky and difficult.
But the fact is when you take a clear subject and try and make it cloudy, (for what purpose?) just as berg did with the subject of adultery and sin, it definitely goes into heretical preaching

Well, even when we know that adultery is a sin, just looking at a woman to lust after her, is adultery.
Does that mean that when a woman looks at a man to lust after him, is not a sin?
What about a man looking at a woman or a woman looking at a man without lust but with deep affection, "loving" in a platonic way? Is that possible? What about "lustless" friendship between people of different gender? Can there be such a thing?

Excuse me for butting into your conversation, but it seems to me, Lydia, that what Miguel is doing by asking those questions is a very wise and healthy thing to do. In TF we were taught that to doubt and question were huge sins worthy of punishment. Personally, I have freed myself from that bondage of fear and it sounds like Miguel has too. In fact, it was doubting and questioning that enabled me to free myself from that cult.
It's great that you seem so certain about your beliefs Lydia, but why do you find it necessary to slur Miguel publicly. Is it because he is not as certain as you, or because he doesn't agree with you? Or perhaps his questioning makes you uncomfortable with your own certainty? It seems to me that we all "have issues" as you put it, so it's not necessary to single out Miguel and speak down to him like that. We all take different approachs to our "issues", and imo learning to ask the right questions is crucial. For the sake of debates such as this one going on here, it is much more helpful to focus on the ideas and issues rather than making it about the other person, as in "what a funny guy you are.... you really have issues".
